About Fluticasone Propionate

What is Fluticasone Propionate used for?

Fluticasone propionate (the generic form of Flovent) is an inhaled corticosteroid medication primarily used to manage asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) symptoms and prevent asthma and/or COPD attacks. It is also called a maintenance inhaler.

How Fluticasone Propionate works

Flovent HFA is an inhaler that uses an aerosol to push the medicine into your lungs through your airways. ‘HFA’ is short for hydrofluoroalkane. That is the aerosol ingredient that helps move the active ingredient of your inhaler (corticosteroids) into your lungs. It is environmentally safe and safe for patients. It is also used widely in albuterol inhalers.

Flovent Diskus, on the other hand, is a powder-based inhaler that does not use an aerosol to deliver medication to the lungs. Instead, the patient must be able to inhale the powder from the Diskus inhaler for the medication to be delivered to the lungs.

The drugmaker - GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) - announced it would no longer make Flovent. GSK plans to focus on making the generic version instead - fluticasone propionate inhalers.

Can You Refill Fluticasone Inhaler Medication Online?

Fluticasone inhalers can only be dispensed with a doctor’s prescription. Traditionally, patients would need to schedule an in-person appointment with their doctor or lung specialist to renew their prescription before receiving a refill. However, if you are stable on your current fluticasone inhaler dosage, you may benefit from PonteVita Rx’s services that streamline the maintenance medication refill process and remove the need for in-person doctor visits for simple and stable refills.

PonteVita Rx offers a convenient way to access prescription refills whenever and wherever you need them anywhere in the U.S. Our services make it easier to refill your prescription and instantly send them to your chosen pharmacy.

However, please note that our services are most suitable for patients who have been stable and established on their inhaler dose for at least one year. Not all prescription medications are suitable for our 1-year refill service, as some medications and health conditions need monitoring or adjustments from your healthcare provider on a regular basis.
