Stress. Anxiety. Not feeling heard or respected. Nothing has humbled me more as a doctor than being a patient myself. Experiencing the barriers that limit access to my own medication really opened my eyes. It was complicated, expensive and time intensive. After these experiences, I saw the need for a solution that was cost-effective, accessible and time-sensitive.
We are on a mission to radically improve how patients experience healthcare by streamlining the refill process. With deep empathy for people who are stable on their maintenance medication but struggling to get refills, we provide patients access to affordable, timely prescriptions to help them live less stressful and more fulfilling lives.

Adrian Blackwell, MD
Founder and CEO of PonteVita Rx
Dr. Blackwell is a double-board-certified physician. He completed his medical school at The University of South Florida. He then went to the Emergency Medicine Program at The University of Houston, where he served as the Chief Resident and graduated with multiple awards, including Resident of the Year, Clinician of the Year and was honored with an award for the best academic performance in his class. A decade after his training, following his passion for fitness and metabolic health, he obtained board certification in obesity medicine as well. Throughout his career as a physician, he has worked across multiple healthcare settings such as the ER, urgent care and ICU, as well as working directly for health insurance companies and skilled nursing facilities. In 2018, he began working as a telehealth physician. His experiences in different settings have provided him with an awareness that there is a systematic lack of focus on patients’ medication needs. He is combining his expertise to streamline the refill process for patients because no one should ever go without access to their medications.
Dr. Blackwell married his high school sweetheart, Lizette, and they have three amazing children, a chocolate lab named Happy, and three cats (Mr. Me-Meow is his favorite). They love outdoor adventures, travel and the beach. They currently reside in central Florida.

This is Dr. Blackwell’s better half. Lizette is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. She trained and served as a surgical assistant while attending full-time night school classes for college. She served with distinction and was awarded as Senior Airman of the Year and Surgical Technician of the Year for the entire USAF.
She will be your patient support liaison while also providing office administration for PonteVita Rx.
